SEATTLE, WA – We wanted you to be the among the first to know that this spring, fifteen professional athletes are giving back to their local communities as part of the popchips game changers program. Sports stars including Seattle’s very own hope solo are asking their fans, “how can I give back to our community?” fans in Seattle now have the chance to submit local charities and causes for hope solo to support. whether the athletes choose to visit a local hospital, school, or help a regional animal shelter, they will all be giving back to the city that has supported them.
From April 2nd – April 30th, popchips will be accepting charity and local cause submissions on www.popchips.com/gamechangers as well as on hope solo’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ hopesolo
From May 1st – May 19th, the local community will be invited to vote on the submissions that they want to see popchips bring to life. Hope solo will then choose the winning idea from the top five most popular entries and in june, popchips will help all fifteen athletes give back to their hometowns.

Hope Solo plays goalkeeper for the Seattle Sounders and is the current starting goalkeeper for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. In 2008, Solo acted as the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. at the Summer Olympics in Beijing. In 2007 and 2011, Solo played starting goalkeeper for the U.S. team in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. During the 2011 FIFA competition, Solo became the twenty-seventh American woman, and second goalkeeper to reach 100 caps.
