SEATTLE, WA – Metropolitan Grill, Seattle’s classic, award-winning steakhouse, today announced an exclusive partnership with Agri Beef Co’s Double R Ranch brand to offer an exclusive beef brand that is amongst the best steakhouse beef programs in the country.
Featuring beef produced locally in Washington state, Metropolitan Grill Prime is Double R Ranch’s first branded prime program for a restaurant. Combining Double R Ranch Prime and The Met’s private cutting and aging specs through a decade long partnership with Stock Yards Meat, this new exclusive brand was designed by beef experts with hundreds of years of combined experience.
In addition to the beef’s exclusivity, Double R Ranch and Agri Beef Co’s commitment is built on four fundamental principles: Sustainability, Total Quality, Animal Well-Being and Responsibility. According to a study conducted by the University of Idaho, beef produced through Agri Beef Co’s beef supply chain has a 40 percent smaller carbon footprint than similar beef suppliers from the Midwest due to local crop sourcing, efficient composting, use of hydroelectric power, and the reduction in transportation impact. The company is committed to sourcing and raising the highest quality cattle from the Pacific Northwest and keeping them in the Northwest.
“We are offering the best beef program in the country with Double R Ranch,” said Metropolitan Grill’s Executive Chef Eric Hellner. “Metropolitan Grill Prime is exclusive to The Met and not replicable anywhere and it is all graded 100 percent USDA Prime.”
This change reflects the natural progression of The Met’s beef program as it continuously strives to provide the best product experience for their guests. The Met’s dedication goes back to Earl Owens, executive chef for more than 20 years, who created the standard for this program which continues to be the measure The Met lives up to. His grandsons continue the tradition as Joshua Anderson serves as The Met’s general manager and Jeremy Anderson is director of operations and corporate executive chef for Consolidated Restaurants, Inc.
“We have proudly served Nebraska beef for many years. Recently, we discovered the uncompromising standard, exceptional flavor, consistency, production and positive environmental impact of the Double R Ranch brand right in our own backyard. This is the perfect embodiment of our vision and a natural partnership for The Met as we continue our longstanding tradition of excellence,” Hellner added.
The Met’s menu selections and pricing will not change as they maintain a focus on the Prime classics: filet mignon, New York peppercorn steak, Delmonico, porterhouse and Chateaubriand carved tableside – all hand selected by Hellner and custom dry-aged. The restaurant will also continue to source the world’s most exclusive items from other suppliers, such as American Wagyu from Snake River Farms, Australian Wagyu from Mayura Station and Iberico de Bellota pork from Western Spain.
