For the first time in our fair city, a group of pizzaioli and one lone pizzaiola will put their skills to the ultimate test in hopes of earning the title “Pizza Toss Boss 2013!” Ballard Pizza Company’s resident pro, Israel Santiago, will face off against 11 pizza pros on Sunday, March 10 for the inaugural Toss Like a Boss competition at the Ballard Avenue shop.
The event kicks off at noon, and for a suggested donation of $20, attendees will receive a scorecard and free pizza and salad for the duration of the two-hour event.

Representatives from Big Mario’s Pizza, Piecora’s Original New York Pizza and Pasta, Zayda Buddy’s Pizza & Bar, Elemental Pizza, Tavolàta, The Hi-Life, Rione XIII, and Ballard Pizza Company will be testing their tossing skills. Competitors will be judged on speed, style, height of their toss, and best looking pie. There will be four rounds, each with three participants, with the winner of each round advancing to the final round and tossing for the glorious title of “Pizza Toss Boss.” The winner will receive eternal bragging rights and a trophy to display proudly in their restaurant for the year.

The proceeds from the event will go to the winner’s charity of choice.
