Chef John Howie Representing Seahawks in the Kick Hunger Challenge

While the Seahawks battle their way to the Super Bowl, Chef John Howie represents the team in a different pursuit – to be crowned champion in the fight against hunger for the second year in a row. Chef Howie and former Seahawk and musician Craig Terrill are once again joining forces to represent the Seahawks in the Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge. 

Here’s a peek at what’s in the works:


SPORT Restaurant & Bar

Signed Russell Wilson JerseyA fan’s dream awaits! Chef Howie is selling $10 raffle tickets to win a signed Russell Wilson jersey; a collector’s piece that would cost hundreds of dollars elsewhere. Tickets are available at SPORT Restaurant & Bar through January 8, 2014. The jersey is displayed at the restaurant, tastefully framed in glass by Lake City Framing. All raffle ticket proceeds go to the Kick Hunger Challenge.

Toyota Prius Raffle
For just $25, you could be the owner of a brand new car! A 2013 Toyota Prius is being raffled off for $25 a ticket, now through January 8, 2014. Tickets are available at all John Howie Restaurants or Toyota of Kirkland. All car raffle proceeds go to the Kick Hunger Challenge.

‘New York, New York’ Auction and Dinner
It’s time to “Party with a Purpose” – New York style. On January 8, 2014, SPORT Restaurant & Bar will host a ‘New York, New York’ auction and dinner at 6:00pm. Dinner will be a taste ofNew York, with everything from fresh baked pretzels to New York style pizza. The auction will include both silent and live items, featuring signed Seahawks memorabilia such as a signed Russell Wilson football. The lucky winners of the signed Russell Wilson jersey and Toyota Prius raffle will be drawn and announced at the dinner. Featuring live music, former Seahawk and musician Craig Terrill and his band will perform both classic and original rock songs. Tickets are $50 each, available through Brown Paper Tickets. All proceeds go to the Kick Hunger Challenge.

Cocktails
All John Howie Restaurants are getting involved. For every specialty drink sold, $1 will be donated to the Kick Hunger Challenge.

SPORT Restaurant & Bar: “Legion of Boom Bomber” – Stoli Razz, sour mix, blue curacao, with a float of Midori. Layered green and blue for the 12th man, dropped into a pint with Red Bull.

Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar Bellevue: “1st and 10” – Reyka vodka, blood orange purée, house-made sour and raspberry shrub.

Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar Seattle: “Pom-Pom” – Pearl pomegranate vodka, cranberry juice, Aperol, and Seastar Sweet & Sour, garnished with a cranberry.

John Howie Steak: “Icelandic Rose” – Reyka vodka, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, pomegranate juice, apple juice, lemon juice and simple syrup.

Every dollar raised for the Seahawks in the Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge will be distributed through Seattle Food Lifeline; a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger inWestern Washington. For every dollar that is raised, three nutritious meals will be provided to someone in need.
