Taste the wine, hear the music and help the cause at the 8th annual Wine Rocks Seattle, a yearly event with 40 plus wineries, breweries and food trucks serving their best against sweeping views of the Seattle waterfront. New this year will be a special Rhone Zone Tasting Bar featuring Washington’s fastest growing wine varietals (including Counoise, Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, Viognier and more).
Beyond the wine, the main focus of the evening is the music. Two of the evening’s performers taking the stage to share their passion for music will be crowd favorites and Washington winemakers Gordy Rawson from Chatter Creek Winery and Darren Des Voigne from Des Voigne Cellars. More performers will be announced soon – stay tuned for the full line-up.
This year Wine Rocks Seattle benefits the University District Food Bank. For 31 years, the University District Food Bank has helped prevent hunger in Northeast Seattle neighborhoods. Each week, from their walk-in food bank, more than 1,100 different families receive the groceries they need to prepare nutritionally balanced meals at home. University District Food Bank’s home delivery program reaches another 55 homebound seniors every week and their backpack program, at six nearby schools, provides 250 kids with healthy meals and snacks for the weekend when school meals aren’t available. They are consistently one of the busiest food banks in the City of Seattle.
