The Saint, Now a New Lush Cocktail Lounge and Social Club

The Saint, revamped into a gorgeous cocktail lounge, is now open. The aqua blue exterior and the taco menu are gone—but fear not, owner Quentin Ertel has painted the triangular building on East Olive Way a spectacular bougainvillea pink and created an ideal spot to imbibe stellar cocktails. DJ nights are in the works!

Inspired by the vibrant colors of a matador’s jacket, black, gold, and bright pink play a prominent role in the design concept. Circles of gold leaf on the windows provide a peek into the lounge where plush black and gold banquettes are the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail with friends.

A wall of black and white images of matadors are a fun backdrop to the luxurious space that includes bright pink flowers climbing up a wall of vintage photos, a tin ceiling painted bronze, vintage bull horns, and lush burgundy velvet drapes hung on rods handmade by Black Dog Forge and Studio Gioia in Seattle.

El Santo, a classic margarita made with Hornitos Repasado, and Sangria Del Santo are favorites and remain on the cocktails list. And while there is still plenty of tequila and mescal in the house, Ertel has crafted a cocktail list that showcases classic drinks, alongside inspired creations. Highlights from the menu include: Suit of Light with Big Gin, Dolin dry vermouth, Luxardo maraschino, and absinthe; By The Horns with Rittenhouse Rye, Dolin rouge vermouth, Punt e Mes and grapefruit; Plaza De Toros with Vida mescal, lemon, agave syrup, and orange marmalade; El Floridita with Silver Rum, Luxardo maraschino, lime, and grapefruit; and Death In The Afternoon a delightful combination of absinthe and Champagne.

The Saint Social Club launched in December of 2017 as a vibrant and lush cocktail lounge. Founder Quentin Ertel pays homage to the beauty of Traje de Luces (a matador’s jacket), with this luxurious space full of bold color, handcrafted touches, and thoughtful details. The Saint originally opened as a restaurant in April of 2008 receiving numerous accolades for its tacos and robust offering of tequilas and cocktails before closing in September of 2017. The Saint is open daily 5pm to 2am. For more information, please visit www.thesaintsocialclub.com or call 206.323.9922.

The Saint is located at 1416 E Olive Way in Seattle, Washington.
