Sweet, briny, buttery, Pacific oysters out of New Zealand have just arrived on Elliott’s Oyster House’s menu (and please note they shall sell out fast, eh!)
“These gems are truly some of the best oysters I’ve tasted. They have a crunchy texture and a brothy brine upfront with a lot of sweetness,” said Executive Chef Robert Spaulding. “It is winter in the Southern hemisphere, so these oysters are plump and full of sugars and fats to get through the season.”
Grown in remote, pristine and highly regulated waters off New Zealand’s North Island, the oysters’ flavor is rich with citrus, melon and nori notes and a pronounced cucumber finish, Chef Spaulding explained.
Elliott’s is serving the following two varieties at $4.25 per oyster: ~ Kaipara oysters from Pouto Peninsula, North Island and Coromandel from the Coromandel Peninsula, North Island.
