Celebrate All Things Fall and Apples at 3rd Annual
Olympic Peninsula Apple & Cider Festival
Taste the region throughout the three-day festival with a combination of free and ticketed events October 11 – 13 — tickets are on sale now.
Indulge in the taste, smells, and history of the region during the third annual Olympic Peninsula Apple & Cider Festival on October 11 – 13, 2019. During this year’s three-day festival there’s a focus on complementary community events with locations throughout the north-eastern tip of the Olympic Peninsula in East-Jefferson County.
“A common misperception is that Washington state apples are grown east of the cascades,” said event producer Daniel Milholland of Thunderbull Productions. “But orchards have thrived in Jefferson County since the 1800s. The incredible hard cider boom as of late, and popular cideries in the area like Alpenfire, Eaglemount, Finnriver have brought our apple production to the limelight in the last few years.”
The event kicks off on Friday, with the Harvest Dinner, featuring delicious local food, wine and ciders. On Saturday morning, drop by the Port Townsend Farmers Market, which is one of the largest small town markets in the nation. Then, the party revs up at the Palindrome with pop up bottle shop, “Cider Saloon,” featuring over 40 regional ciders, apple pressing and live music. Saturday festivities continue at Propolis Brewery for the Fall Fire Party showcasing local food trucks and a fire show. Sunday morning, wake up for the Barbarian Breakfast at Alpenfire Cidery featuring a cider infused Montecristo sandwich; 2 layers of Spark glazed ham, Calypso infused mixed berry jam, Mt Townsend jack and mustard violette on 3 slices of brioche dipped in spiced egg wash followed by apple-themed seminars and orchard tours. Wrap up a weekend of apple celebration with the annual Finnriver World Apple Day Fair from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Relish in the goodness of cider tastings, orchard tours, live music, orchard parade, woodfired pizza, food & treats, kids fun, face painting, hula hooping, apple cider donuts, and the 3nd annual Cidery Fermentation Games! All day-time events are all-ages, however all hard cider tastings are 21+.
Inspired in part by the Franklin Cider Days on the East Coast, this festival is a new Northwest tradition, grounded in the flavor of the season and the culture of the region: rugged, classy and delicious.
